French guitarist Laurine Phélut began her studies at the age of nine years old with Scottish teacher Ian Hendry. She was later accepted into both the Lyon University of Musicology and the Conservatoire de la Courneuve in Paris, where she studied with guitarist Alberto Ponce. In 1998, she entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, where she continued her study with Ponce. In 2000, she obtained her diploma and masters of guitar.
Phélut has received numerous prizes and awards, including first prize in the “International Competition of Mendrisio” and second prize and the Audience’s Award in the “International Competition of Benicasim and Antony” among many others.
Phélut travels the world performing concerts in countries such as France, Swirzerland, Spain, Greece and the United States. She is currently the holder of the “Aptitude Certificate of Guitar Teaching” and gives lessons at the National School of Yerres in the Paris area. Critics have hailed her playing as shining with “her sensitivity and musical colors” El Levante and “fascinating” El Periodico Mediterraneo.
