Students interested in such career fields as accounting, aerospace, banking, education, law enforcement and retail can meet, network and interview with potential employers at this week’s Internship and Career Fair in the Quad from 10 a.m. To 2 p.m.

Despite a tough job market and economy, more than 160 employers will be on campus Wednesday, Sept. 17, for Cal State Fullerton’s fall Internship & Job Fair.

During the annual event, sponsored by the Career Center, students seeking job experience, and soon-to-be graduates will have the opportunity to meet, network and interview with potential employers representing a wide range of industries.

The free event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Quad.

“The job market is softer this year than last year — there’s no doubt about it,” said Jim Case, Career Center director. “But through this event and other resources offered by the Career Center, we’re preparing our students and graduates to land an internship or first job in the industry they desire.”

A wide variety of companies will have representatives on campus to discuss career opportunities with students at Sept. 17 fall Internship & Career Fair.

Participants represent a range of industries, including accounting, aerospace, banking, government, education, law enforcement and retail.

The Career Center offers various services and online resources that help students research a company, write and polish a resume, or practice and prepare for a job interview.

Upcoming events include the Graduate and Professional School Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, in the Quad. The event features universities and educational programs to promote postbaccalaureate education.

“Often when the job market gets tighter, more people become more interested in graduate school,” Case said. “Historically, students decide to go to graduate school to increase their employability and skills. Graduate school can be a good investment, if you are clear about how a particular graduate program will increase your employability in a targeted field.”
