Background:

Baby, the award-winning Broadway musical, first premiered in 1983. It was nominated for seven Tonys, including Best Musical and Best Score. With composer David Shire, lyricist Richard Maltby Jr. and book by Sybille Pearson, BABY is a comic and insightful look at the implications and delights of having a child.

Set on and around a college campus, BABY is the story of three couples in very different circumstances that experience the happiness and anxiety surrounding conception and impending parenthood. Two middle-aged college administrators with grown daughters face a surprise pregnancy; a pair of thirty-somethings face issues with conception; and two very young unmarried college students deal with the prospect of raising their own young. Filled with warmth, energy and charm, BABY is a contemporary musical of adult relationships and emotions.

The cast includes Jeff Leatherwood, Sharon Taylor, Marshal Carolan, Lauren Stevens, Greg Hammer, Jessica Gurule, Chris Chatman, Brian Shaw, Jeff Aiken and Michael Haayen.

Tori Matsufugi is the scenic designer; Jerel Ondoy is the costume designer, Katy Streeter is the lighting designer, Rachelle Vargas is the makeup designer, and sound designers are John Fisher and Ray Gibson.
