Shi Liu, author and editor of books on Chinese literature,
art and civilization and a visiting professor of Chinese
at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, will
deliver a lecture on “Chinese Scholarship: Tradition
and Modernization.”

The lecture aims to promote intercultural awareness,
understanding and collaboration; celebrate the emerging
Chinese language program in Cal State Fullerton’s
Department of Modern Languages and Literatures; commemorate
the first large acquisition of Chinese language materials
at CSUF; and explore an ancient civilization at the
crossroads of tradition and modernization.
