| Background: |
The United States has GPS, the Europeans have Galileo, and the Russians have
GLONASS. Each, along with Japan, Canada, China and India, has its own space-based augmentation system for ensuring signal integrity. What if civil aviators around the world could rely on multi-constellation receivers to receive and process GPS, GLONASS and Galileo signals to complement and enhance each other? Grewal will discuss these questions and more. The professor is a registered professional engineer in California, a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, a Fellow of the Institute for the Advancement of Engineering and a member of the Institute of Navigation. This is the first of four technology breakfasts planned for the 2006-07 academic year. |
