CSUF Business Professor Heading to South Africa
To Discuss Quality-of-Life Issues
Professor will chair a session on "Quality of Life of People Living With Disabilities," which will feature presentations on community-based rehabilitation, impact of mobility impairment in various countries, societal impact on individual disabilities, and use of narratives to elaborate health and well-being data.

Mary Joyce, Gianneschi Professor of Nonprofit Marketing at Cal State Fullerton, will soon travel to Grahamstown, South Africa, as a participant in the “Prospects for Quality of Life in the New Millennium,” the seventh conference of the International Society for Quality-of-Life Studies. The conference is July 17-20.
Joyce will chair a session on “Quality of Life of People Living With Disabilities,” which will feature presentations on community-based rehabilitation, impact of mobility impairment in various countries, societal impact on individual disabilities, and use of narratives to elaborate health and well-being data. Joyce also will participate in a panel discussion on the impact of marketing on quality of life.
The professor joined the Cal State Fullerton faculty in 2002 as is the first to be appointed Gianneschi Professor of Nonprofit Marketing. She has written numerous articles about integrated marketing, entrepreneurial behavior in not-for-profit organizations and health marketing. She has served as a pro bono consultant with the Association for Donor Recruitment Professionals, the American Association of Blood Banks and the Carolina/Georgia Blood Center. Prior to joining Cal State Fullerton, she taught at Emerson College in Boston.
The Laguna Beach resident holds a doctorate in business administration from the University of Kentucky.
