A special April 8 workshop geared to providing resources
and lessons to aid in teaching economic concepts to
high school students is being hosted
by Cal State Fullerton’s Center for Economic Education. |

"Virtual Economics is an interactive workshop
where participants will learn how to access a multiplicity
of resources," said Chiara Gratton-Lavoie, director
of the CSUF Center for Economic Education. "We
will be providing teachers in the program with a copy
of the National Center on Economic Education's
CD-ROM, "Virtual Economics Version 3." Included
in the CD-Rom are lessons for teaching economics and
personal finance, as well as national and state economics,
by grade level,
concept, national and/or state content standards." |
Cost: |
The daylong program, supported by a grant from the
NCEE and State Farm Insurance, is free but seating
is limited to 30 participants. To register, call Barbara

Background: |
The Center for Economic Education is part of Cal State
Fullerton College of Business and Economics. Its purpose
is to provide technical economic education services to
improve the level of economic understanding in grades
K-12, institutions of higher education and the surrounding
community. During the fall and spring semesters, the
center offers an 11-week stock market simulation for
high school students, as well as consultations and workshops
for teachers. |
