CSUF Army ROTC to Hold Conference Feb. 17

Feb. 16, 2006 :: No. 135

What: Cal State Fullerton's Army Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) will present an "Educators Conference" to give information about the program, such as admission requirements and scholarships. Student cadets working to become officers will demonstrate their training regimen. A briefing on the Army experience in Iraq and Afghanistan also will be presented.
When:

Friday, Feb. 17
10 a.m. -2 p.m.

Where: Titan Student Union's Portola Pavilion
Who: While the event is designed for educators, high school and college counselors, the public is welcome to attend.
Background: The Army ROTC at Cal State Fullerton was established in 2002 and received a 2005 MacArthur Award, which honors the nation's top Army ROTC units. Each student in the program receives a scholarship and monthly stipend. Graduates are commissioned as 2nd lieutenants and can serve in the Army National Guard full time or as reserve officers. The program has a 95 percent graduation rate.
