University Honors Retiring Faculty and Staff Members
Retiring Faculty and Staff recognized at retirement dinner at El Dorado Ranch

June 16, 2005

Cal State Fullerton recognized several faculty and staff members for their years of service during a special May 18 retirement dinner hosted by President Milton A. Gordon at El Dorado Ranch.

Among those feted were Koushang Poorkaj, Sociology, for 39 years; Kathryn Morris, Pollak Library, for 38 years; and E. Sue Boeltl, Business and Financial Affairs, and Linda McCollum, English, Comparative Literature and Lingustics, who both started working on campus in 1967. Jane Hipolito, English, Comparative Literature and Lingustics, was honored for service since 1968.

Recognized for service to the university since 1969 were Karen Bell, Art; W. Garrett Capune, Criminal Justice and Sociology; Jack Elenbaas, History; James Hightower, Information Systems and Decision Sciences; C. Eugene Jones, Biological Sciences; Mona Kratzert, Pollak Library; Frances Mathews, Mathematics; Michael Riley, University Extended Education; and Jesus O. Tauzon, Electrical Engineering.

Leon Gilbert, Modern Languages and Literatures; David Natali, Information Systems and Decision Sciences; and John White, English, Comparative Literature and Linguistics, were honored for 34 years of service.

Others acknowledged for more than 30 years were: Ronald Andris, Athletics; Takenori Aso, Sociology; Isaac Cardenas, Chicana/Chicano Studies; Linda Eginton, Admissions and Records; Ronald Harmon, Modern Languages and Literatures; Wayne Hobson, American Studies; Theodore Hromadka, Mathematics; Paul Hugstad and Robert Jones, both Marketing; Rae Newton and Lorraine Prinsky, both Sociology; Chennareddy Reddy, Electrical Engineering; Leo Song, Biological Science; Melinda White, Physical Plant; James Woodward, History; and Hironobu Yasuda, Gerontology Institute.

Accolades were given to: Rosimbo Amaya, Information Technology; Erika Bakken, Academic Senate; Carol Bednar, Grace Bertalot and Barbara Bloomenstein, all Pollak Library; Margot Benardo, Modern Languages and Literatures; Robert Birney, Brian Christie and John Edwards, all Physical Plant; Karen Brackett, College of Communications; Gerald Brem, Geological Sciences; Tamara Carbone, Marketing; Shaonan Chang, Information Technology; Maria Dailey, Dean of Students; Marilyn Davis, Psychology; Margaret Doyle, Science Education; and Diane Durbenn, Music.
