Radio Veteran Larry Mantle to Speak at Patrons’ Spring Event

What: Longtime talk-show host Larry Mantle will discuss his book “This Is AirTalk: 20 Years of Conversations on 89.3 KPCC” and answer questions during the Cal State Fullerton Patrons of the Pollak Library’s annual spring event.

When: 3 p.m. Saturday, May 21
A reception will follow. Mantle will autograph copies of his book, which will be available for purchase that day.

Background: Mantle is currently celebrating his 20th year at the microphone for “AirTalk” on National Public Radio affiliate KPCC (FM-89.3). The daily interview/call-in program is now the longest continuously airing daily talk program in Southern California.

Since 1985, Mantle’s guests have included President Jimmy Carter, Steve Martin, Sen. John McCain, Rosa Parks, Maurice Sendak, Carl Reiner and more, from the worlds of politics, science, medicine, history, entertainment and the arts.
