Background: Two of Oberlin Conservatory of Music's piano faculty artists- Angela Cheng and Alvin Chow -come to Fullerton to perform in a duo piano recital. This couple shares a rich background as students of Menahem Pressler at Indiana University and Sascha Gorodnitzki at the Juilliard School. Both have won numerous individual competitions and are active performing as soloists with orchestras, in chamber recitals and in this husband and wife duo piano format. The program, a mix of four hands at one piano and two piano works comes from the plethora of French four-hand music.

Angela Cheng has appeared as soloist with the Israel Philharmonic, Boston Pops, Buffalo Philharmonic, and the symphonies of Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Houston, Indianapolis , Syracuse, Utah and Colorado. She collaborates with chamber ensembles such as the Takacs, Colorado and Vogler quartets. Her many honors include a Gold Medal at the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Masters Competition, the Medal of Excellence from the Salzburg Mozarteum and a Career Development Grant from the Canada Council. Critics have hailed Cheng's performances for her remarkable technique, tonal beauty and musicianship.

Alvin Chow has appeared as soloist with the National Symphony Orchestra, Colorado Symphony Orchestra, Civic Orchestra of Chicago, Pan-Asia Symphony in Hong Kong and the Mozarteum Orchestra in Salzburg. He has won numerous competitions, such as the MTNA Collegiate Artist Competition and the New York Piano Teachers Congress International Piano Competition. His many honors include the prestigious Victor Herbert Prize in piano from the Juilliard School and the Joseph Battista Memorial Scholarship at Indiana University. Chow has also become widely known as a chamber musician, performing extensively with his wife, Angela Cheng, and his twin brother, Alan.
