Women’s History Month

Celebrating Achievements of Women

The Women and Gender Studies Program, the Women and Gender Studies Student Association and other campus departments and clubs have organized a full schedule of lectures, workshops, performances and other events in observance of Women’s History Month. Talks will focus on subjects ranging from women and politics and reproductive rights in Orange County to a behind-the-scenes look at the “Real Housewives of the OC.” Scheduled events include:

March 6

Noon-1 p.m. — “Documenting the Voice of the Silenced” with Lydia Nibley, director, co-producer and co-writer of the award-winning documentary “Two Spirits.” Sponsored by the Women’s Center. Room 205, University Hall

7 p.m. — “We Did It for You!: Women’s Journey Through History” volunteer performance of play created by poet and playwright Thea Iberall. Room 264, McCarthy Hall

March 7

Noon-1 p.m. — “The Steamy Affair: Gender & Empire in the Victorian Era” presented by McNair Scholar Caralou B. Rosen, a history and women’s studies major. Sponsored by Women’s Center. Room 205, University Hall

10 a.m.–5 p.m. — Green Living Fundraiser sponsored by the Social Justice Summit. Quad

March 8
