Technology Day
Brushing Up on Latest Computer Hardware and Software
Information Technology hosts a daylong workshop on how faculty and staff members can use the latest in technology software, hardware and systems. Technology Day kicks off at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, and programs continue until 4 p.m.
Among the programs being held in the Pollak Library:
- 11:15 a.m. — “Putting Your iPad to Work” with Michael Shafae, assistant professor of computer science
- 11:15 a.m. — “Creating Accessible Documents for Your Classroom” with Xtine Burrough, associate professor of communications and Faculty Development Center faculty coordinator of accessible technology initiative, and Kristin Stang, associate professor of special education and university ATI coordinator
- 1 p.m. — “Danger in the Air: Emerging Threats in Mobile Computing” with Dale Coddington, security analyst in Information Technology
- 1:30 p.m. — “Supporting Teaching and Learning With TITANium II” with Kristen Shand, assistant professor of secondary education
- 1:30 p.m. — “Embedding Library Content and Subject Guides Into Course Management Systems” with Mike DeMars, systems librarian, Pollak Library
- 2:15 p.m. — “Titan Cloud — Server Virtualization Infrastructure” led by Willie Peng, assistant director of infrastructure services, Information Technology
In addition to the programs, there will be demonstrations of various computer, cell phone and other products and exhibits.
