Going Green by Conserving Water
Arboretum Kicks Off New Gardening Series
Campus and community members are invited to find out how to have a beautiful garden while being water wise by attending a Water Conservation Gardening Series at the Fullerton Arboretum.
The series of six classes is sponsored by the Yorba Linda Water District and taught by Steve Gerischer, landscape designer and president of the Southern California Horticulture Society.
“Alternatives to Lawns” kicks off the series Saturday, Sept. 11. “California Friendly Plants for the Garden” follows on Saturday, Oct. 9. Both programs are offered from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Arboretum’s pavilion classrooms.
The four remaining programs will be held in the spring. Registration for the classes is free to Yorba Linda Water District customers (water bill must be presented), $25 per class for Friends of the Fullerton Arboretum members and $30 per class for nonmembers. Preregistration is recommended.
The Fullerton Arboretum is located on the northeast corner of the Cal State Fullerton campus. For more information or to register for the series, call 657-278-3407.
