Gordon Van de Water of Diamond Bar is the
newly elected president of the Patrons of the Library, Cal State
Fullerton’s oldest support group. He will serve a two-year
term.
Also elected to the 2003-04 board for one-year terms
are officers Joyce Mason, second vice president, activities; Lynn
Coppel, third vice president, book selection; and treasurer Claude
Coppel — all of Fullerton. San Juan Capistrano resident George
Pollak was voted first vice president, membership, and Dorothy Heide
of Villa Park is secretary.
Serving three-year terms as newly elected board members
are Farron Brougher of Orange, Fullerton resident Carolyn Eckert
and Howard Seller of Irvine.
Continuing their terms as board members are Robert
Jehnke, June Pollak, Helen Hayner, Marion Moll, Herbert Rutemiller,
Suzanne Serbin, Shirley Stephenson and Albert Vogeler.
Founded in 1965, the Patrons of the Library promote
the importance of the Paulina June and George Pollak Library to
the future development of Cal State Fullerton and the community.
With funds raised through book sales, lecture series, donations
and memberships, the organization acquires books that the library’s
state budget cannot cover, thus enhancing the facility’s existing
collection. They also sponsor field trips, a book discussion group
and exhibits in the Atrium Gallery.
