Nickel and Dimed
Barbara Ehrenreich, center, author of the New
York Times bestseller, Nickel and Dimed, chats with Ryan Alcantara,
director of honors and scholars support services, left; Sarah Grear,
chair of the Arts Inter Club Council; Wayne Hobson, director of
the University Honors Program; and Ephraim Smith, vice president
for academic affairs, prior to her campus discussion about the book,
which provides a look at the lives of the working poor. During her
talk, Ehrenreich focused on how economic policies affect those at
the poverty level, particularly women and children.
