Stars on the Field and in the Boardroom

Cal State Fullerton’s NCAA Championship baseball team continues to be honored for their achievements in June. The team was recognized during the President’s Convocation Sept. 8, during a Sept. 9 Academic Senate meeting and at a Sept. 14 noon rally sponsored by Associated Students. Outfielder Sergio Pedroza, first baseman Brett Pill and pitcher Scott Sarver, who all went to high school in Covina, were recently presented with certificates of commendation by their hometown. The team also received accolades from the California State University Board of Trustees Sept. 15. On Oct. 8, the team was featured in a segment on KTLA Channel 5’s morning news show with sports anchor Damon Andrews, and on Oct. 9, served as grand marshals for the 40th annual Placentia Heritage Days Parade and Festival.
