President Milton A. Gordon, center, congratu-lates Robert Gill and Susan Harmston for 35 years of service. The two, who also are alumni, were honored during the university’s annual Staff Recognition and Appreciation Day and received commemorative Titan rings. Gill joined the campus in 1969 as a staff physicist. After earning his bachelor’s and master’s degrees, he also became a part-time lecturer in physics and astronomy. In 1990, he became the campus environmental compliance manager responsible for interfacing with members of the campus community and all regulatory agencies to maintain compliance with environmental laws and mandates. Harmston, who retired in May, spent her university career in the campus library, progressing from a clerk/typist to library assistant responsible for cataloging books and music scores.
