Campus Offers Summer Programs
for Youth
Looking to keep the kids busy this summer?
Cal State Fullerton’s University Extended Education
and Recreational Sports offer several alternatives to a summer spent
watching television or playing computer games.
For children who are artistically inclined, or would
like to be, the UEE’s popular Art Camp is back. The two-week
program explores the concepts and methods of various art techniques.
Art Camp for youngsters ages 7-12 is offered in three all-day sessions:
June 23-July 3, July 7-July 18 and July 21-Aug. 1. Art Camp for
teens is offered in two all-day sessions, July 7-July 18 and July
21-Aug. 1.
For children hoping to get a head start on the next
school year, UEE offers a number of classes in math, including “Pre-Algebra
Basics” 9-11 a.m. July 7-11, “Algebra I” 9-11
a.m. July 14-18, “Getting Ready for Geometry” 9-11 a.m.
July 21-25, and “Introduction to High School Geometry”
11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. July 7-11. “Creative Writing and Grammar
Skills” is offered Aug. 4-15 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
from 10 a.m. - noon.
For youth in the 7-12 age bracket, the two-weeklong
Mind and Body Yoga Camp is offered Aug. 4-15. From 9 a.m. to noon,
attendees will learn simple yoga poses and mental exercises and
participate in creative play.

Recreational Sports offer three programs under the
heading of Titan Youth Sports Camps: Sports, Learn to Swim and Gymnastics
camps. Full- and half-day sessions are offered through early August
for children in kindergarten through eighth grade.
The Learn to Swim Camp is certified by the Red Cross
and offered in 10-day sessions with 30 minutes of instruction per
day. Start dates are June 30, July 14 and July 28. Start times vary
by experience level.
Gymnastics Camp is a weeklong, full-day camp that
runs Aug. 11-15 and offers instruction on all the Olympic gymnastics
events.
Costs for Titan Youth Sports Camps also vary by program,
but discounts are available for multiple session enrollment. To
