Cal State Fullerton’s award-winning
Department of Theatre and Dance emerged as a major award-winner
this week in San Bernardino at the regional Kennedy Center/American
College Theatre Festival conference hosted by Cal State San Bernardino.
Those students who advanced for participation in the
National KC/ACTF in Washington, D.C., include Fullerton resident
Nathan Jones in the category of Lighting Design and Stephanie Routman,
also of Fullerton, in Directing. The national competition is set
for April 12-18.
“We’re so pleased that our students continue
to excel in regional and national circles,” notes CSUF Theatre
and Dance Chair Susan Hallman. “We hope these students join
their CSUF counterparts in Broadway shows and national tours in
the near future so that more people may revel in the work of these
true professional talents.”
Regional awards went to CSUF students Corinne Carrillo
of Costa Mesa for Audio Design, Steve Giltner of Fullerton for Scenery
Design, Matt Schleicher of Placentia for Lighting Design and Abby
Eiland of Fresno for “Best Partner”.
In addition, CSUF student Desiree Hill of Anaheim
won a Summer Arts Scholarship for the 2004 California State University
