Entitled “A Celebration of Voices Onstage,” this faculty duo will perform a program of works by Ives, Schubert, Falla and Thomas and a selection of Spanish songs.

Soprano Patricia Prunty has made her mark on both the operatic and concert stage. She debuted with the Los Angeles Opera in 1992, performing in a number of roles including, most recently, Yvette in La Rondine. Prunty sang the role of Michaela in The Tragedy of Carmen (Peter Brook’s adaptation) with Santa Fe Stages and Adina in Opera Roanoke’s production of L’Elisir D’Amore in 2000. She has performed with such companies as The San Diego Opera, Opera San Jose and Tulsa Opera in many roles including Musetta in La Boheme, Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro and Pat Nixon in Nixon in China. As winner of the Center for Contemporary Opera’s International Opera Singer’s Competition, Prunty presented her Weill Recital Hall debut in 2000 and Carnegie Hall debut the preceding fall. Originally from Virginia, she received her B.F.A. from Marshall University and her M.M. from Yale University, studying with Phyllis Curtin. She joined CSUF’s Music Department in 2003 as a vocal instructor.

As a solo pianist, Robert Watson is known for an imaginative and eclectic repertory of music. As a collaborative pianist, Watson has performed duo piano recitals with pianist Mary Mark Zeyen and instrumentalists throughout the U. S. He has performed in, and created festivals and recitals devoted to individual composers such as J. S. Bach, Rachmaninoff, Debussy, Schubert and an all-Viennese classical piano recital, performed in the Haydn Saal at the Esterhazy Palace in Eisenstadt, Austria. Watson holds the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano performance from the University of Arizona where he was a student of Ozan Marsh. He currently teaches piano and is keyboard area coordinator at Cal State Fullerton.
