Background:

Navah Perlman’s playing has been called “graceful and secure” (Philadelphia Inquirer) and “a sensuous pleasure” (Denver Post). The daughter of violinist Itzhak Perlman has carved a successful solo career in addition to a full schedule of performances with orchestras throughout the world, ranging from the Toronto and Chicago symphonies to the Israel Philharmonic and Prague Symphony.

A member of the Perlman/Schmidt/Bailey Trio, Perlman has performed in major performance venues, including the Kennedy and Lincoln centers, and at numerous festivals, such as the popular Ravinia Festival. In addition to live performances, her recital recordings of Bach, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Chopin and Prokofiev are available on EMI Classics.

The University Symphony Orchestra, under the leadership of Kimo Furumoto, continues to receive recognition for their Meng Concert Hall performances, and this summer will travel to Europe with CSUF’s Chamber Choir. Annually, the orchestra offers a five-concert series, many featuring renowned soloists. This season’s soloists are the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet Nov. 17 and violinist Jaime Laredo March 2, in addition to Perlman.

Perlman’s “hands moved so fast that they formed a cloud over the keyboard.” — The Fresno Bee
