Urban search and rescue teams from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Orange County Fire Authority and Fullerton Fire Department are on the Cal State Fullerton campus today conducting exercises to test their readiness for responding to natural disasters and other calamities. |

7 a.m. - 7 p.m. Saturday, June 9 |
| Where: |
An Incident Command Post is located in Parking Lot E on the east side of campus, with exercises scheduled in and around various campus parking structures and buildings, including the residence halls. |
| Who: |
Community Service Officers (CSOs) from the University Police Department, which is hosting the day’s exercises, will be serving as “victims” for the rescue maneuvers. |
| Why: |
“This is a training requirement that all of the urban search and rescue teams have to meet,” said Quentin Frazier, emergency management coordinator for CSUF. “Each team is required to respond to a location, integrate with the local jurisdiction and work in unison. This training requirement came straight out of Hurricane Katrina.” During the exercises, a mobile command post and specialized equipment will be deployed and tested by the local agencies. |
