Cal State Fullerton will open its Community Learning and Literacy Center, which will be housed in the west wing of the CSUF Irvine Campus’s newly leased second building — Building 65. Tours of the building and the center will be offered to the public. |

“Through the Community Learning and Literacy Center, we are reaching out to the South County community with learning and literacy programs for children and adults as well,” said Barbara Clark, a reading lecturer and the center’s co-director. “We will be responsive to the community’s learning and literacy needs.” |
Background: |
As the Irvine campus expands, CSUF will be offering more courses and programs. The new Community Learning and Literacy Center will serve students, as well as area residents. Its advisory board includes community social service groups, school districts and parents. The mission is to address the learning and literacy needs of those in South Orange County who need such services as tutoring, education seminars, counseling and computer lab access. |
