are among activities planned this month at Cal State
Fullerton to help prepare campus and community members
for the Nov. 7 election. |

October 17-18 |
10 a.m.-2 p.m. Voter Mobilization
Fair. Voters may register to vote and become
educated on the issues. More than a dozen organizations
will be represented. |
October 17 |
Noon. Proposition Debate
Forum. Representatives will debate both
sides of two propositions on the ballot — Prop.
85 and Prop. 86. Prop. 85 would require parental
notification before a minor can obtain an abortion.
Prop. 86 would add a $2.60 tax on a pack of cigarettes,
with collected revenues to be spent on various health
programs, children’s health coverage and tobacco-related
programs. |
October 18 |
Noon. Open Mic — Get
on Your Soapbox! Participants, including
candidates, are invited to give one-minute speeches
about election issues of their choice and to share
their reasons for voting. |
October 24 |
10 a.m.-2 p.m. Early Voting
Day. The Orange County Early Voting Mobile
will be on campus. Individuals registered to vote
in Orange County may vote at the voting mobile. |
October 31 |
Noon. Get Out the Vote Rally. Event
to include a mock segment of “The Ellen DeGeneres
Show,” featuring a debate between students impersonating
gubernatorial candidates Phil Angelides and Arnold Schwarzenegger. |
