Jesse J. Prinz is the author of “Gut Reactions: A Perceptual Theory of Emotion” (2004) and “Furnishing the Mind: Concepts and Their Perceptual Basis” (2002). His research topics include concepts, emotions, consciousness, moral psychology, nature vs. nurture, aesthetics, vagueness and political psychology. |

“Jesse approaches questions in philosophy about the nature of the mind and the nature of moral and social life from a new and exciting interdisciplinary perspective,” said Amy Coplan, assistant professor of philosophy. “He has an empiricist approach, which is very unusual among philosophers of emotion.” |
