Front and Center: a great
concert and an opportunity to support education
December 21, 2006:: No. 105
From their first successes — “Make
Me Smile” and “25 or 6 to 4” — through
subsequent hits, such as “Does Anybody Really Know
What Time It Is?” “Saturday in the Park,” “Feelin’ Stronger
Every Day,” “Old Days” and “If You
Leave Me Now,” Chicago redefined what
rock and roll could be.
The group will bring its trademark horn sound and solid musicianship
to the Honda Center (formerly the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim)
Saturday, Feb. 3, to headline Cal State Fullerton’s
12th annual Front & Center gala.
Titan alumnus Jack O’Connell (B.A.
history ’73), state superintendent of public instruction,
will emcee the event. O’Connell previously served for
two decades in the California state Legislature, first as
an assemblyman representing the 35th District; then as a
senator for the 18th District.
Among the highlights of the evening, which will benefit scholarship
programs, will be performances by students from the award-winning
Theatre and Dance Department. In addition, the university
will present the Orange County Titan Award to longtime Titan
supporter Rick Muth, president of Orco Block
Co. and founding member of the Family Business Council.
Gold and silver tables of 10 — including dinner — are
$10,000 and $5,000 each, respectively; individual seats are
$1,200 and $600 per person, respectively. Seating in other
areas of the arena also is available for the 8 p.m. show
at ticket prices ranging from $40 to $90 each. Student discounts
are available.
