Forum Slated
Cal State Fullerton and CSU to host a
forum with Vietnamese American community leaders to solidify
partnerships and discuss how CSU can meet the needs of the community.

The California State University prides
itself on its diversity and creation of programs that reach
into and benefit special segments of the region.
On Oct. 5, Cal State Fullerton and the CSU
will host a forum in Garden Grove with leaders of the Vietnamese American
community to solidify partnerships and discuss how the CSU
currently serves and can further meet the needs of this growing
segment of California’s population.
Assemblyman Van Tran (R-Garden Grove) will
be the keynote speaker. He will be joined by CSU Chancellor
Charles B. Reed and Cal State Fullerton President Milton A.
Gordon. In addition, a panel discussion will be held featuring
CSUF alumnus Hai Phan, president and CEO of Dexteus; CSUF
alumna Trangdai Tranguyen, founding director of the Vietnamese
American Project at the Center for Oral & Public History
and a 2004-05 Fulbright scholar; KimOanh Nguyen-Lam, board
member of the Garden Grove Unified School District; Co Pham,
president of the Vietnamese American Chamber in Commerce of
Orange County; and De Tran, publisher of the Viet Mercury.
Tracy Bui, news anchor for KSCI, will serve as moderator.
The program is one of several CSU events designed
to reach out to different ethnic communities throughout the
state.
