Campus Forum Explores Workforce
Issues April 29
Campus community discusses recruitment
and employee retention
April 21, 2005
What can the university do to not only recruit new faculty
and staff, but to keep the current workforce?
Members of the campus community are
invited to attend the Friday, April 29, campus community
forum, "Investing In Our
Future: Developing Solutions for Our Workplace Together."
"We hope for wide participation in this discussion, which
will focus on quality-of-life issues for both our current
and future faculty and staff," said Judith Anderson, executive
vice president. "This is an opportunity to dialogue with
colleagues within our community, and the results of these
conversations will be shared with leadership groups across
the campus for their use in agenda-setting and decision-making."
Sponsored by the University Planning Committee and the Office
of the President, the 8 a.m.-noon forum will include questions
on planning for the future workforce, the quality of workplace
issues and employee satisfaction and morale.
Input is being sought on:
• The changing nature of university work
• Branding and marketing of campus to
prospective faculty and staff
• Affordable housing, child care, flexible
work schedules and telecommuting
• What the campus does well and what
it needs to improve with respect to employee satisfaction.
The forum, including breakfast, will be held in Portola
Pavilion of the Titan Student Union. Reservations required.
To register for the forum, go to www.fullerton.edu/upc.
