A. Gordon to be honored with Chief Executive
Officer Leadership Award

Cal State Fullerton President Milton
A. Gordon will be honored today by the Council for the
Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) with its Chief
Executive Officer Leadership Award for CASE District VII.
The award will be presented during the CASE District VII's
annual conference in San Francisco. District VII encompasses
the states of California, Arizona, Hawaii, Nevada and Utah.
Now in his 16th year at president of Cal State Fullerton,
Gordon was selected for the award because of his vision and
ability to inspire others, establishment of a positive image
for the university, rise in the institution's stature in
the community, as well as increased innovation and support
of advancement for the university.
Gordon's expertise is being tapped by various national groups.
This fall, he was elected to serve as secretary on the Governing
Board for the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities.
In addition, he was elected to a three-year term on HACU's
Commission on International Education and is its only representative
from California.
Also this year, Gordon, who has a doctorate
in mathematics, was named to serve on the American Association
of State Colleges and Universities new Task Force on Mathematics
and Science Enrollments. AASCU represents more than 400
public colleges, universities and systems of higher education
that collectively serve more than three million students.
The 13-member task force includes only one other member
from California - Warren
J. Baker, president of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
