Oct. 26 symposium to address enterprise
risk management.

Stephen Wilder, vice president of risk
management at the Disney Co., will discuss enterprise risk
management during a Wednesday, Oct. 26, symposium at Cal State
Fullerton.
Wilder’s hourlong presentation to faculty,
staff, students and community members is sponsored by the
College of Business and Economics’ Center for Insurance
Studies.
The 2:30 p.m. program will be held in the Titan
Theatre of the Titan Student Union.
The center, under the direction of Weili Lu,
assistant professor of finance, was established to develop
partnerships with the insurance industry and to attract and
educate talented individuals for careers in the insurance
and financial services industry.
Future events include special classroom presentations
during Actuary Awareness Week, Oct. 31- Nov. 4. The annual
observance is jointly sponsored by the Center for Insurance
Studies and the departments of Mathematics, Information Systems
and Decision Sciences.
Also scheduled are a Nov. 1 Insurance Entrepreneurship
Symposium, with representatives from insurance brokerage and
financial planning, and a Nov. 3 M.B.A. seminar in enterprise
risk management. Guest speaker for the Nov. 3 event is Steve
D’Arcy, president of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
