Commencement Celebrations Begin
at Cal State Fullerton

As Cal State Fullerton students put the finishing touches on final projects and prepare for semester finals, the university kicks off the commencement season with a series of special events in recognition of graduates’ achievements.

As Cal State Fullerton students put the finishing touches on final projects and prepare for semester finals, the university kicks off the commencement season with a series of special events in recognition of graduates’ achievements.

Among the festivities scheduled this month are:
Friday, May 13 — 6-8 p.m., inaugural Lavender Graduation, Portola Pavilion, Titan Student Union. Keynote speaker is Ronni Sanlo, director of the UCLA Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Campus Resource Center. For additional information, call 657-278-7366.

Saturday, May 14 — 5-10 p.m., 17th annual Chicano/Latino Graduate Recognition Ceremony, Portola Pavilion, Titan Student Union. Keynoter is Patricia Arredondo, professor at Arizona State University and president of the National Latina/o Psychological Association. For additional information, call 657-278-2537.

Sunday, May 15 — 5-8 p.m., sixth annual Pilipino Graduation, Portola Pavilion, Titan Student Union. Keynote speaker is television actress and CSUF alumna Jessica Rey (B.A. business administration-accounting ’00). For additional information, call 657-278-8316.

Wednesday, May 18 —2-4 p.m., El Toro Campus Graduates Recognition Reception, El Toro Campus Courtyard. Reception to be followed by 3 p.m. program. Keynote charge to the graduates to be delivered by Ashley Bishop, dean of the College of Education. For additional information, call 657-278-1650.

Friday, May 20 — 2:30-4:30 p.m., Graduation Celebration and Awards Ceremony for International Students, Portola Pavilion, Titan Student Union. Guest speaker is Paula Parker, president of the North Orange County International Friendship Council. For additional information, call 657-278-2787

Friday, May 20 — 5 p.m., inaugural Credential Candidate Recognition Ceremonies, Engineering and Computer Science Lawn. For additional information, call 657-278-5620.

Saturday, May 21 — 2-4 p.m., third annual Asian Pacific Islander Graduate Recognition Ceremony, Portola Pavilion, Titan Student Union. Keynoter is Doris Ching, vice president for student affairs, University of Hawaii. For additional information, call 657-278-8316.

Sunday, May 22 — 5-8 p.m., 17th annual Pan African Student Recognition Ceremony on the Engineering and Computer Science Lawn. Keynote speaker is Martha Daniel, president and CEO, Information Management Resources Inc. For additional information, call 657-278-3230.

Saturday, May 28 — 2 p.m., ROTC Commissioning Ceremony, Portola Pavilion, Titan Student Union. Guest speaker is retired Maj. William A. Sylvester. For additional information, call 657-278-3007.

Cal State Fullerton’s 46th annual universitywide commencement ceremonies are May 28-29. An Honors Convocation will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, May 27, in the Titan Student Union’s Portola Pavilion.
