Program: |
Performing works by Hildegard von Bingen, Purcell and
Hindemith’s song cycle The Life of Mary,
the evening will be an exploration of the synthesis of
art and devotion in vocal music dedicated to Mary, the
mother of Jesus.
Heidi Braun-Hill, violin and Brian Moll will join Dellal,
piano. |
Background: |
Mezzo-soprano Pamela Dellal made her Lincoln Center
debut with world-renowned conductor William Christie,
singing Messiah with the Handel and Haydn Society at
Avery Fisher Hall. She has also sung with renowned conductors
Seiji Ozawa, Christopher Hogwood, Grant Llewellen, Paul
McCreesh, Bernard Labadie and Roger Norrington. She
was named the inaugural artist-in-residence for the
Newton Choral Society in the 2002-03 season, an honor
which included the premiere of a specially commissioned
work and a vocal recital.
Dellal has been a featured artist with The Red House
Opera Group, Prism Opera Company, Opera Aperta, Ocean
State Lyric Opera, the New Boston Theatre Project and
the Opera Company of Boston, and has appeared in concert
in major cities in Europe, the United States, Australia
and Japan.
A noted recitalist, she has been featured in concert
performances throughout the Northeast US, including
multiple appearances on the FleetBoston Celebrity Series.
She has recorded for Arabesque Records, Artona, BMG,
CRI, Dorian, Meridian, and KOCH International Classics.
