Background: |
The German group, Trio Con Brio,
since its creation in 1990, has received enthusiastic
reactions and critical acclaim with its varied and often
unconventional repertory. Composers such as Sérgio
Assad, Léo Brouwer, Egberto Gismonti, Sidney
Corbett and others have composed works for the Trio.
In addition to their own arrangements, the Trio has
also rediscovered neglected and forgotten works of the
18th and 19th centuries. They have received grants from
Villa Musica, Rheinland-Pfalz and the Baden-Württemberg
Ministry of Culture. Concert tours through Europe, Canada
and the US, invitations to renowned festivals and numerous
radio and TV appearances have earned the Trio a prominent
place in the international music scene. Besides “impressive
virtuosity,” the European press praises their
“ravishing aura,” and “refreshing
lack of convention.”
Carsten Hustedt, flute, studied in
Bremen and Karlsruhe. Carsten joined Trio Con Brio in
2004. “ To me, music means openness for new ways,
steady growth and development, together with audiences,
fellow musicians and composers.”
Carolin Kriegbaum, viola, studied
in Paris with Serge Collot, with Emile Cantor and with
Paul Doktor, New York. “I am striving to express
my emotional cosmos in colours, tone colours or painter's
colours, there's no difference to me”.
Andrea Förderreuther, guitar,
studied in Germany, Spain and the USA. As a founder
of Trio Con Brio, she also contributes arrangements.
“The wealth and the variety of Latin American
Music constantly inspire my artistic work.” |
